Ray Price has put together Caliburn to experience a long held vision - that of creating a band to play bagpipe music with a dynamic rock music base.

There have been many attempts at Celtic Rock, from the Canadian band Rare Air, Brittany's Alan Stivell, Asturian piper Hevia to the Celtic Punk sounds of The Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly.

None of them really "hit the spot" for Ray, so he decided to do something for himself.  Caliburn is definitely a rock band with bagpipes which satisfies his long held longing.  Using his life long career in Celtic music as a jumping off point, in Caliburn he adds contemporary rock rhythms with blistering bass, drums, guitar and violin.  He defies you to keep in your seat at a Caliburn gig - "audiences are up on their feet and dancing within the first two minutes" he says with a smile.
